Christmas tree chopping

On Saturday we drove to the Christmas tree farm to chop down our tree for the year. George was so very excited. It was close to 80 degrees when we left the house, but close to dusk and the wind was bringing in a cold front. Still, only light coats were needed. I love that.

George was very happy to hold the measuring stick for us and loved to run from tree to tree checking them out. We came home with this 5 foot sparse Charlie Brown like tree. it was DH's favorite, I believe he said the open spaces provided lots of room for ornaments. Of course, I have no time to decorate it right now so it's sitting empty in the living room. That doesn't stop George from running over and touching it 100 times a day yelling "Tree! Tree!" It's his first word when he wakes up in the morning. He also got a rare timeout from DH yesterday for playing in the water basin. Who needs ornaments, when everything else about the tree is so fascinating?
