Today George and I went out and bought him a basketball hoop for the back yard. We had purchased one from Walmart yesterday only to find out that it was a "Walmart exclusive" variety that didn't have height adjustment. Other than that, it looked the same as the ones in the other stores and had the same name on the box. I'd purchased it not realizing that it was an "exclusive" and that it didn't have all the features we wanted (but that explains why it was $10 less than everywhere else I'd seen it). I was quite disappointed to find out that it wasn't the one we really wanted, so we boxed that one up to take back and went to get the good one today from another store.
George is really good at dunking the ball and thinks its funny when the ball bounces on the ground. He didn't even mind when I took a shot, missed, and the rebound bounced off the top of his head - it didn't phase him at all. Maybe he's got a strong soccer-player head?
Our backyard patio is starting to look like a Little Tikes showroom what with the kiddie car, sandbox, picnic table, and now a basketball hoop. But we do spend hours out there every day, so I think they'll all be put to good use.
